Two national AG World Missions leaders have become infected with the COVID-19 virus in addition to other AGWM personnel and missionaries. AGWM Executive Director Greg Mundis and AGWM Northern Asia Regional Director Ron Maddux were both hospitalized.

According to AGWM reports, Mundis’ battle has spanned more than two weeks. Despite days of steady improvement, his condition has required increased intervention recently. He was airlifted March 31 to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis to a pulmonary unit for specialized care for COVID-19 patients.

Maddux tested positive for COVID-19 a few days following Mundis’ positive test. After spending about two weeks in the hospital, Maddux was released to go home on April 2.

“We are encouraged by the worldwide outpouring of prayer support for Greg and Ron, as well as for others among our international personnel,” says Andy Raatz, AGWM Communications director. “Please continue to intercede for this growing need, and believe with us that the Church will move forward, even in places where spiritual resistance has been great. God can use COVID-19 to point an unprecedented number of people to Christ.”
