A.D. Producers' Special Message to AG Leadership

The executive producers of NBC's highly anticipated miniseries A.D. The Bible Continues, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, have issued a heartfelt message of thanks to Assemblies of God leaders. 

While writers were early in the process of developing initial scripts for A.D., Mark Burnett met with Dr. George O. Wood, AG general superintendent, and other key Fellowship leaders to discuss the person and work of the Holy Spirit as they prepared the initial scripts for A.D .

"The wisdom we received that day has guided us every step of the way," Burnett recalls.

"There is much we can learn through the example of the first century believers," Wood states. "These believers modeled for us complete reliance on the Holy Spirit. Despite the constant threat of persecution, they pressed forward to reach the unreached with the message of the gospel."

Burnett and Downey also expressed gratitude to My Healthy Church for its role in the development and distribution of the Official A.D. Church Kit . The kit includes sermons curated by the Assemblies of God, a study and guidebook, and access to clips from A.D . These resources are designed to take church members deeper in the first 10 chapters of the Book of Acts, while preparing Christians to deal with conversations that will result from millions of people viewing the primetime NBC broadcasts.

"My prayer," says Wood, "is that this series will ignite a passion for today's believers to move forward with Spirit's empowerment to spread the message of hope in Christ to a world desperate to know Him."
