Evangel's Online Counseling Programs Accredited
“CACREP accreditation is a huge win for our current and future students,” said Christine Arnzen, coordinator of EU’s Graduate Counseling programs. “Accreditation has positive implications for licensure and career opportunities and ensures that our programs follow the most rigorous standards of excellence.”
Upon launching the online program, EU strategically mirrored the requirements, structure, resources, and plans of its already-accredited seated counseling programs. This allowed the university to apply under a “new delivery method” provision, receiving accreditation nearly two years ahead of the its scheduled 2025 review.
CACREP accreditation confirms that a program meets specific quality standards associated with counselor education and demonstrates that a program is stable and reputable. Evangel’s online counseling programs join over 906 masters and doctoral degree programs offered by 449 U.S. colleges and universities evaluated by CACREP.
“The core mission of the counseling program is to train students to become professional counselors who integrate the Christian faith with their professional practice,” said Arnzen. “Whether our students are studying in person or online, the CACREP accreditation gives them confidence that their education will be formally recognized within the field of clinical mental health or school counseling.”
