As ministers, other delegates, and visitors convene on Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida for the 56th General Council of the Assemblies of God, there will again be a very special place to connect for prayer. The 7:14 prayer room, which links with 2 Chronicles 7:14 and the 7:14 Prayer Movement, provides a place for people to pray privately, leave a written prayer request, receive Communion and prayer with prayer team members, or have special prayer with team members for particular needs or concerns.

Visitors may also pray through a number of prayer stations identified by flags throughout the prayer room. Designations include the Assemblies of God, our nation, our schools, church planting, U.S. and world missions, healing, finances, families, and spiritual direction. A prayer guide will be posted at each station.

"A special focus for the 7:14 Prayer Room this year is to pray God's blessing and favor upon ministers and their families and others who would like to receive prayer," states John Maempa, director of the Office of Prayer and Spiritual Care. "People often come to General Council with heavy burdens, physical needs, and other concerns that need God's intervention."

During the General Council in 2013, some 1,500 people came through for prayer. "There was a marvelous sense of God's presence," Maempa says. "People received healing and deliverance, others were unable to stand as they were overwhelmed by the power of the Holy Spirit and were ministered to deeply in their spirits. Still others were greatly encouraged in their hearts as they spent time in prayer. We look forward again to sensing God's presence and power in awesome ways."

This year, a number of prayer team members will again be on hand from Freedom Fellowship International, Waxahachie, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor John Bates. "The FFI team ministers powerfully in the gifts of the Spirit," Maempa states. "The Holy Spirit uses them in dynamic ways to minister to specific needs and concerns in peoples' lives. We are so pleased that they will be a vital part of the 7:14 Prayer Room experience in Orlando.

The 7:14 Prayer Room, located in room 205 of the convention center, will open each morning, Monday through Friday, at 7:14 and continue till the evening services begin each day.
