Next Generation Grant Deadline Approaching

Few things impact the ability of young people to fulfill the calling to full-time ministry than student loan debt. However, alumni of the 17 Assemblies of God-endorsed colleges and universities who graduated between spring 2011 and spring 2016 have an opportunity for some relief! For those who are serving in full-time ministry in the Assemblies of God and require assistance with student loan debt, they can apply now for an AG Next Generation Grant. All 2017 grant applications must be postmarked no later than September 15, 2017.

For several years now, the AG Next Generation Grant has been made possible by Assemblies of God Trust, in partnership with the Alliance for AG Higher Education. The grant is awarded annually to a select number of graduates on a case-by-case basis.

“Assisting the next generation of leaders as they are released into ministry is key to the continued strengthening and expansion of the Kingdom in the years ahead, should Jesus delay His coming,” says Dr. George O. Wood, chairman of AGTrust and general superintendent of the Assemblies of God.

AG Next Generation Grant recipient Alyssa Wilson, a graduate of Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, and husband, Nathaniel, serve as Chi Alpha pastors at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.

"Full-time ministry is not a position people take to make money,” says Alyssa. “We know God has called us to where we are for a purpose. The grant helps us to be in full-time ministry without the fear of struggling to repay student loans.

“I cannot begin to express enough gratitude for receiving this generous grant. I am beyond thankful for the AGTrust donors who make it possible for people like me to do what I get to do."

AGTrust has awarded AG university students and graduates a total of 1,164 scholarships and grants totaling $3,054,982. To learn more about qualifications and application deadlines for the three AGTrust scholarship programs and the AG Next Generation Grant, go to agtrust.org.
