"The Human Right: To Know Jesus" is Theme for AG Week of Prayer

The Assemblies of God 2015 Week of Prayer, coming January 4-10, is embracing the National Youth Ministries new initiative by making "The Human Right: To Know Jesus" its theme this year.

The Assemblies of God National Leadership and Resource Center (NLRC) is offering churches and ministries a variety of free resources, in English and in Spanish, for the Week of Prayer. Free materials include a themed email header graphic, presentation slides, bulletin cover and insert, a set of three posters, an adult sermon outline, and a collection of four outlines for youth sermons.

The week offers seven days of suggested prayer topics, which are tied to The Human Right theme, such as praying for the present generation, praying for the lost, praying for a passion to witness, praying that Christians come to understand that knowing Christ as Savior is the basic right of every person, and more.

"We encourage every AG church, ministry, leader and member to begin their year by focusing on their relationship with Christ and personally taking ownership of the Great Commission," says Dr. Jim Bradford, general secretary of the Assemblies of God. "I've found that when the body of Christ is in step with God, miraculous things result and people are won to Christ."

The official Week of Prayer, which is January 4-10, can also be scheduled for other weeks of the year as the Week of Prayer free downloads are not dated, enabling their use at any time. "The date isn't the key," Bradford says. "The intentional act of setting time aside for God is."
