Devotional Focus: The Power of the Holy Spirit
Pray that a powerful move of the Holy Spirit will accelerate this church
toward the greatest evangelism the world has ever known.
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8, ESV).The principle purpose of The Human Right movement is that every child, youth, and adult on earth has the right to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Acts 1:8 identifies the power we need to fulfill that purpose. When the Holy Spirit was outpoured on the Day of Pentecost, an important sign of His infilling was the disciples speaking in earthly languages unknown to them but known to many people from other regions. While the baptism in the Holy Spirit also provides a wonderful prayer language in unknown tongues, this event, on the Day of Pentecost, powerfully symbolized the purpose of the power—to proclaim to the gospel of salvation to every people, every language, and every culture.
The baptism in the Holy Spirit is far more than just speaking in another language — it's about being empowered to witness. The language is the sign of the Spirit’s empowerment. As more and more people receive the Holy Spirit’s power and grow in their relationship with Him, telling others about Jesus becomes an important priority. With the Spirit’s power comes sensitivity to divine appointments and a boldness and wisdom to witness to others.
As more Christ-followers are open to the power of the Holy Spirit and receive His power to witness, evangelism at home and abroad will increase exponentially, bringing millions into relationship with Jesus Christ!
