Christian Released From Iranian Prison
AG World Missions has learned that Rasoul Abdollahi, an Iranian Christian imprisoned for his faith, has been released from Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, Iran.
Abdollahi was initially arrested during a mass crackdown on Christians on December 26, 2010. Interrogated for more than two months, Abdollahi was released on bail, but was later tried and convicted for his Christian activities. He began serving a three-year sentence on December 2, 2013, in Evin prison.
“Though the church worldwide varies significantly doctrinally, we must stand united when it comes to the plight of suffering believers. In the body of Christ, when one suffers, we all suffer,” states AG General Superintendent George O. Wood. “Let us be faithful to pray for God’s comfort and strengthening for all believers who are suffering, advocate for their safety and freedom, and trust God to use each situation to advance His kingdom.”
