Influence Music Releases New Worship Single From National Community Church
"Revive," the newest single from the upcoming Influence Music album, SOAR, was written by worship leaders Kurtis Parks and Chris Douglas to express the vision of National Community Church-a multi-site Assemblies of God church that meets in seven theaters in the Washington, DC area.
"We are blessed with incredible songwriters at National Community Church. They are a gift to us and a gift to the church at large," says NCC Lead Pastor Mark Batterson. "I've had 'Revive' on repeat for the last year. It's a song that will resonate with any church that is believing for revival in America."
"Simply put, the message of the song is the vision of our church. The song talks of repentance but not in a condemning way," says Parks, worship director at NCC. "It's [God's] kindness that leads us to repentance."
It all started when Parks and Douglas engaged in a conversation concerning the need for revival. "2 Chronicles 7:14 is the heartbeat of NCC worship, and we realized there's not really a song that captures that verse and the call to revival. So we wrote one.
Every revival throughout history has happened in the midst of the Holy Spirit's move and at places where God's presence takes center stage," Parks continues. "Our church is in a place right now where worship is central to who we are and how we live. The more we seek God, the more we see God. The more we seek His face, the more we'll see His hand."
"We believe in the power of revival to transform our churches," says Sol Arledge, Jr., COO of the Assemblies of God National Leadership and Resource Center. "Kurtis and Chris have provided us with a song that encourages the hearers to seek genuine repentance and open their hearts to embrace God's mercy."
"Revive" can be streamed from InfluenceMusic.com or downloaded from iTunes.
