AG Churches Called to Prayer for Paris, Global Crises

The 372,000 churches in the World Assemblies of God Fellowship have been called to prayer for Christians who are suffering and that the gospel to be proclaimed to migrants.

The World Assemblies of God Fellowship (WAGF) is asking all affiliated churches to pray on Sunday, November 22 for believers who are suffering and for the gospel to go forth strongly to those peoples who are in migration.

Last week, civilians at concerts and sporting events in Paris found themselves targeted by terrorists with guns and bombs. Reports indicate that 129 lost their lives in these heinous attacks.

"Words are inadequate to describe the profound sorrow we have for those families who lost loved ones in the terrorists' massacre last Friday in Paris," expressed George O. Wood, chairman of the WAGF.  "We pray for the recovery of those gravely injured."

A statement from the Assemblies of God of France articulated their pain, "We, together with the entire French nation, are overwhelmed. Weeping and tears are everywhere for the lives that have been shattered. Nothing will ever be the same for those who were left behind."

In November alone, in addition to the attack in Paris, violent Muslim radicals have killed 5 people in Israel and Palestine, 3 people in Egypt, 49 people in Lebanon and 31 people in Iraq. This does not include the countless people who were injured, driven from their homes as refugees into places like Turkey and Jordan, and killed in the civil war in Syria.

As you pray for these critical needs, here are some prayer points to remember:

• Pray for the families of those who have lost their lives or have been severely injured, that they would find peace and healing.

• Pray that people's fears will not diminish the commitment of believers to minister the love and message of Christ to those who are fleeing the violence in their home countries.

• Pray that God will continue to guide our Fellowship and provide the needed resources, as we continue to minister to these multitudes that are in such desperate need.
