Enhanced Coverage of General Council Includes Spanish Option

A new online feature for General Council this year includes English and Spanish backstage productions prior to services.
As tens of thousands of Assemblies of God attendees flock to Orlando July 31-Aug. 4 for the 58th General Council, thousands more will be joining in online on AG websites and Facebook pages to experience a blessing through the anointed ministry of the evening service speakers — presented in English and Spanish.

Also, this year, a new enhanced General Council opportunity is being provided exclusively to online viewers. Online guests can learn about the day’s activities, speakers, and items of interest through a new backstage production 30 minutes prior to both Influence Conference General Sessions and all General Council evening services.

“We have two different sets for the backstage production,” states Tim Laffoon, backstage production director. “One set will be English-speaking with host pastors, Mike Santiago and Travis Jones. The other will be Spanish-speaking with host pastor Gabby Mejia.” The Sunday evening missions service desk hosts will be AGWM Communications Director Andy Raatz at the English desk and missionary Gladys Rodriguez at the Spanish desk.

The Influence Conference General Sessions livestream backstage begins at 6:30 p.m. July 31 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 1 (Eastern). General Council services (Aug. 1 through Aug. 4) all begin their backstage production at 6:30 p.m. (Eastern).

Laffoon explains that the English backstage experience and ensuing service will be available on the Assemblies of God USA Facebook page as well as at generalcouncil.org. The Spanish edition will be offered on the General Council Spanish site.

“The two backstage productions will feature a variety of English and Spanish guests and some will appear on both broadcasts throughout the week,” Laffoon says. “At the conclusion of each backstage event, the streaming video will move seamlessly to the evening service. On the Spanish site, the evening service worship will be in English, but the remainder of the service will provide a translator voice-over of announcements, any special recognitions or presentations, as well as for the evening’s speaker.”

In addition to the adult services being livestreamed, the youth services taking place simultaneously will be livestreamed each night at 7 p.m. (Eastern) to the AG Youth Ministries Facebook page beginning Tuesday, July 30, through Saturday, Aug. 3.

For service times (Eastern), speakers, events, and additional General Council and Influence Conference information, see the General Council website.
