CHLS Easter Videos Offer a Powerful Resource for Individuals and Congregations
The Center for Holy Lands Studies offers free videos focused on the Easter Narrative.
With Easter arriving relatively early this year, the Center for Holy Lands Studies (CHLS) has posted several “on location” videos concerning the Easter Week for individuals and churches to use to enhance the week. CHLS is also offering a video that may prove to be a surprising revelation to many concerning Christ’s words when He called out to God while on the Cross. “These videos provide viewers with a fuller, richer understanding of the Easter Narrative,” explains Amy Flattery, director of CHLS. “Geography, archaeology, ancient traditions, culture — all come into play. I believe the Center for Holy Lands Studies is enabling the generations of today — and the future — to better experience Scripture as it was originally intended.”
Included in the CHLS postings is the narrated series, The Last Week of Jesus. Taking viewers from Day 1, Galilee to Jerusalem through Day 8, The Resurrection, these on-location videos, ranging from roughly 5 to 9 minutes each, provide rich historical and geographical context to the Easter Narrative.
Another Easter Narrative video features a conversation with Flattery. This revealing 6-minute message is designed to encourage believers and demonstrate God’s enduring love for His Son and Christ's victory through the Cross.
In the latest CHLS video, From Jerusalem — The Way of the Cross, Flattery takes viewers on-site to Jerusalem. There she walks the historical path Jesus is believed to have taken out of Jerusalem and to the likely location of His crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. She also adds some little-known facts concerning first-century tombs during the 5-minute tour.
