Growing Need in Nepal

AG plans earthquake recovery and relief efforts in three phases.

The Assemblies of God relief effort in Nepal is gaining momentum as even greater needs are coming to light.

More than 7,200 people are confirmed dead. Nearly twice that number are injured.

The AG World Missions area director for Southern Asia has been leading the relief efforts working with AGWM personnel, the Nepal Assemblies of God, and a Convoy of Hope relief team.

"We have met with leaders from the Nepal Assemblies of God and identified a key village for our initial relief effort," the area director says. "This will include providing tarps for temporary shelter for all 300 families in the village and giving them a 7- to 10-day food supply."

Additional relief and recovery efforts are planned in three phases.

"We have a great team on the ground, and we've been able to work with Convoy of Hope and initiate a lot of effective relief ministry," says Omar Beiler, AGWM regional director for Eurasia.
