Call for Prayer Following Burkina Faso Attack

A terrorist attack at a Burkina Faso church has killed the pastor and several church members. Here are four ways to pray.

At approximately noon on Sunday a gunman arrived at an Assemblies of God church in northern Burkina Faso. Within a matter of minutes, six people had lost their lives, including Pastor Peter Ouedraogo. This follows an equally horrific attack on a Pentecostal church and Catholic churches on Easter in Sri Lanka.

Please join me in prayer in these four specific areas:

Pray for the Assemblies of God of Burkina Faso to experience “the peace which passes understanding” in the coming days. Pray that the Holy Spirit will give them a sense of His close presence as they grieve and that they will be shining examples of the love of Christ in the coming days.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).

Pray for the safety of churches throughout the world as violence against places of worship continues to escalate. Pray that acts of terror would be thwarted and that God will be glorified through His Church.
He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success (Job 5:12).

Pray for the salvation of those seeking evil against the Church, that God would turn their hearts to Him and use them to proclaim the gospel.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26).

Pray that a great spiritual awakening will sweep across the globe.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
