Bilingual Spanish Master of Leadership and Ministry Degree Launched at AGTS of Evangel University

New master's degree is designed in recognition of the growing numbers of Hispanic leaders in the Assemblies of God.
The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary of Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, has designed a Bilingual Spanish Master of Leadership & Ministry degree in recognition of the growing constituency of Hispanic ministry leaders within the Assemblies of God fellowship.

According to the most recent research, 23-percent of Assemblies of God adherents are Hispanic.

The goal of the degree program is to further educate and equip these ministers and missionaries with relevant and practical advanced training.

“AGTS has a solid history of developing church leaders for the 21st century,” said Tim Hager, dean of AGTS. “Equipping the next generation of Hispanic leaders for powerful and effective ministry is a strategic initiative inspired by the Holy Spirit.”

The bilingual degree program launches this fall, with a cohort of AG Hispanic district leaders among its first participants. An entirely online course delivery allows increased access and the ability for students to study anytime, anywhere.

Any student interested in this degree program is encouraged to apply. Scholarships are available to AG-credential holders.

“We are focused on continuing to expand the bilingual degree programs offered through AGTS,” Hager said. “It is our hope that this focus supports increasingly diverse global ministry efforts, specifically those of our AG world missionaries serving in Central and South America.”

PRACTICAL DEGREE

The Master of Leadership & Ministry degree is a 45-credit professional studies program that equips ministers to become life-long learners and to develop models of personal and professional growth. The Bilingual Spanish version of the degree is new this fall.

“AGTS is offering a pathway for a successful ministerial and vocational career,” said Fernando Tamara, director and research assistant of The Jesse Miranda Center for Hispanic Leadership.

“Why is it successful? Because AGTS desires to train Hispanic leaders for the future of our beloved Assemblies of God. It has become a benchmark for Christian higher education.”

Core courses include Identity and Calling of the Spiritual Leader, Relational Dynamics in Ministry, Leading Christian Ministries, and Spiritual Formation of the Minister.

INTERESTED STUDENTS

Hispanic ministry leaders may still participate in the cohort.
