General Council, National Youth Convention to be Livestreamed

Services and sessions conducted at General Council and at the National Youth Convention in Anaheim will be livestreamed August 7-11.

Thousands have already registered and anticipation continues to build for the 57th General Council and the annual National Youth Convention being held simultaneously at the Anaheim Convention Center in California on August 7-11. Assemblies of God adherents unable to attend the exciting return to Anaheim and the birth place of Azusa Street can still experience all the services and sessions of this landmark event online.

All the General Council morning services, business sessions, and evening services will be livestreamed at GeneralCouncil.org during the week. The livestreaming will also include the general sessions from the Influence Conference on Monday and Tuesday.

“We hope this will allow more people throughout the nation to follow the events and services of General Council,” Mark Forrester, director of Communications for the AG national office, says.

The National Youth Convention evening services will also be livestreamed, but at two different locations: Livestream.com (livestream.com/agusa/NYC17) and the AG Youth Ministries Facebook page.

“We also plan to do Facebook lives (live video presentations) throughout the week on our Facebook page (@agyouth),” says Eli Macha, communications and content strategist for Youth Ministries. “We also plan to offer preservice streaming 20-30 minutes before the service, interviews with workshop speakers throughout the day, and spontaneous live streaming of events such as fine arts presentations, the Reach Anaheim event (National AIM trip), and other events as they occur.”

Evening services for General Council and the National Youth Convention begin at 9 p.m. (CST) Tuesday, Aug. 8, with the first Influence Conference general session starting things off at the same time on Monday evening. Visit the General Council website for a complete schedule and time listings (in PST) of sessions and services.
